About David Thompson
David Thompson played college basketball at NC State (North Carolina State University), where he led the Wolfpack to the 1974 NCAA Championship and was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. He was selected 1st overall in both the ABA and NBA drafts in 1975, choosing to sign with the Denver Nuggets (ABA/NBA, 1975–1982). He later played for the Seattle SuperSonics (1982–1984) before retiring. Thompson was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1996 and is widely regarded as one of the most gifted athletes in basketball history.
