About Mickey Mantle & Bill Dickey
Mickey Mantle — "The Commerce Comet" — played his entire 18-year MLB career with the New York Yankees, winning seven World Series championships and earning three AL MVP Awards (1956, 1957, 1962). A Triple Crown winner in 1956 and a 20-time All-Star, Mantle hit 536 career home runs as one of the most powerful switch-hitters in baseball history. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1974.
Bill Dickey is widely regarded as one of the greatest catchers in the history of Major League Baseball. A New York Yankees legend, Dickey won eight World Series championships and was an 11-time All-Star during his 17-year career. Known for his exceptional defense, leadership, and consistent hitting, Dickey served as a mentor to Yogi Berra and helped define the standard for the catcher position in the modern era. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1954.
